Meet the Team
Dr. Alison Bates
is a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Director and founder of Sundance House in 2017. Ali has over 20 years experience working in a variety of NHS and private mental health settings with adults, children, adolescents and families. Ali has a specialism in the assessment and support of neurodevelopmental conditions, adolescent development, child behaviours and parenting support. Ali believes that the therapeutic relationship is pivotal to engagement and offers a nurturing space for clients to work within. Ali is clinical lead for the Neurodevelopmental Assessment Pathway at Sundance House.
Dr. Kate Butt is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years' experience offering a range of therapeutic interventions to adults at Sundance House. Kate works with client's experiencing high levels of stress and burnout, anxiety and low mood. Kate believes that everyone has the capacity to navigate their own path through life's challenges, and that her expertise lies in being a guide to support clients through this process and to reach their full potential. Kate is trained in a variety of models of psychological therapy, and predominantly use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy when working with clients.
Alexandra Clarke is a Clinical Nurse Specialist
with over 13 years of experience specialising in child and adolescent mental health, with a particular focus on disordered eating. Alex’s professional background includes work within private healthcare settings, including The Priory Chelmsford and Ellern Mede Ridgeway, as well as 10 years within the NHS SET - CAMHS Eating Disorder Service. Alexandra has extensive experience working with children & adolescents and is skilled in systemic family-based approaches to care.
Dr. Sally Duncombe
is a Clinical Psychologist specialising in child and adolescent mental health. Sal is a specialist in neuropsychology and enjoys working with parents of younger children who are seeking support for developmental issues. Sal contributes to the Neurodevelopmental Pathway at Sundance House.
Charlotte Flowers is an advanced Clinical Practitioner specialising in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of ADHD (Adults). Her background experience incudes working in a range of community and inpatient NHS mental health settings. Charlotte is interested in providing holistic support to people with neurodevelopmental disorders and their associated comorbidities. Charlotte will be contributing to our Neurodevelopmental Pathway at Sundance House.
Dr. Liam Grisley is a Clinical Psychologist
and offers online appointments at Sundance House. Liam has extensive experience working across the lifespan, supporting individuals with a wide range of mental health difficulties. His approach is holistic, acknowledging the complex interplay of trauma, environmental stresses, and life transitions on mental health. Liam currently works privately and also for the NHS using a range of evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, Solution Focused Therapy, EMDR, Compassion Focused Therapy as well as systemic approaches.
Rosie Hayles is our Clinic Secretary and Mental Health Counsellor who can support children and young people using a solution focused approach. As Clinic Secretary, Rosie is available to answer any queries you may have, advise you of the different pathways and their processes, and will be delighted to welcome you to Sundance House.
Claire Hedman is a Counselling Psychotherapist
who specialises in working with both adults and young people. In her work with children, she also provides support to parents and caregivers, helping them understand their crucial role in aiding their child's development of improved emotional regulation. When assisting adults, Claire employs a trauma-focused approach, incorporating somatic awareness and CBT to help them reconstruct their sense of self in the aftermath of a traumatic event.
Jackie Hourihan is an Integrative Psychotherapist and Senior Clinical Supervisor with over 25 year's experience working with young people and families across a range of settings. Jackie has extensive expertise in supporting young people's emotional wellbeing, development and mental health needs and has a special interest in young people finding the school environment challenging. Jackie is trained in CBT and mindfulness and is an Accredited Mindfulness and Resilience Trainer, bringing a thoughtful, evidence-based and compassionate approach to her work.
Rachel Joseph is a highly qualified and experienced Speech and Language Therapist. Rachel runs her own successful practice, working closely with her clients and their families, local authorities and educational providers. Rachel contributes to the Neurodevelopmental Pathway at Sundance House.
Lucy Morter is a Systemic Family Practitioner offering family support sessions to explore ways of managing mental health difficulties and worries in the family. This can include individual, couple and group sessions both face to face or online. Lucy has experience working in a variety of mental health settings in the NHS and within social services. Lucy is also a Neurodevelopmental Practitioner with an interest in Autism and ADHD and she contributes to the Neurodevelopmental Pathway at Sundance House.
Dr. Nathalie Pearce is a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years' experience working in NHS CAMHS. Nathalie has a specialist interest in working with autistic spectrum disorders, OCD and other anxiety disorders, and utilises ideas from CBT, Systemic Practice and ACT to support young people, parents and families. Nathalie also offers high quality clinical supervision and is experienced in delivering training and facilitating reflective spaces. Nathalie contributes to the Neurodevelopmental Pathway at Sundance House.
Helen Potter is a Play Therapist and Systemic Practitioner. Helen has over 10 years experience working with young children and their families.
Dr. Manas Sarkar is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and supports Sundance House with diagnostics for neurodevelopmental presentations (ASD/ADHD) following the thorough assessment process.
Dr. Sarkar is a Child and Adolescent Consultant in the NHS CAMHS and has a private clinic at The Priory, Chelmsford. For private referrals for Psychiatry and medication enquiries, please contact his secretary Claire Sims at claire.sims3@nhs.net - 01245 867800.
Eileen Sullivan
is an Integrative Therapist specialising in Child and Adolescent mental health and emotional disorders. Eileen has over 25 years experience working in the NHS and in a variety of mental health settings. Eileen has a specialist interest in trauma and is a trained Brainspotting Practitioner.
